The event, held at the beautiful Porter Valley Country Club in Northridge, CA, was a night filled with inspiration, recognition, and camaraderie.
The MCLA, a pioneering non-profit organization, has been at the forefront of providing accessible and affordable mediation services to the Los Angeles community for over fourteen years. Founded by the visionary Myer J. Sankary, MCLA stands as the only non-profit agency offering high-quality, reduced-fee mediation services, particularly benefiting underserved communities. Through strategic partnerships and unwavering dedication, MCLA has transformed the landscape of dispute resolution in Los Angeles, saving the court system significant time and resources while promoting peaceful conflict resolution.
The Founder’s Award was rightfully bestowed upon Myer J. Sankary, whose 55 years of service and innovative leadership have left an indelible mark on both the legal and mediation communities. His foresight, particularly in expanding MCLA’s reach to non-attorney mediators during the pandemic, showcased his adaptability and commitment to justice for all.
Enrique G. Koenig, recipient of the Patron Award, was honored for his steadfast support of MCLA through the Erich and Della Koenig Foundation. His contributions have bolstered MCLA’s mission, ensuring the continued provision of vital mediation services to those in need. Enrique’s dedication to helping families through complex relational issues has enriched countless lives in the greater Los Angeles area.
The evening was not only a celebration of these outstanding individuals but also a testament to the power of mediation in building bridges within our community. It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, share stories of success, and look forward to a future where mediation continues to play a pivotal role in achieving justice and harmony.
